In 2004, Quintero was awarded the National Theatre Prize in recognition of his important work. “Contigo pan y cebolla”(1962) and “El premio flaco”(1964) are two of his most renowned pieces with much acclaimed performances in Latin America, Europe and the U.S.

Dignidad Cuba pays tribute to this important artist by sharing with you one of his most celebrated performances at the Revolution Square, where he recited the poem “Padre Nuestro Latinoamericano," by Uruguayan poet and writer Mario Benedetti, one of  the most well known Latin American exponents of committed poetry.

Enjoy not only the artistic value of the performance itself, heartfelt and technically perfect, but also keep close attention to the message of the poem.
